Nightshift Shawl Kits

These kits are for knitting the Nightshift Shawl, designed by Andrea Mowry, out of two gradient colorways in fingering weight yarn.  Note that the pattern calls for worsted weight yarn but that these kits are for fingering weight yarn not worsted weight.

Needles:  Whatever you need to obtain 24-28 sts/ 4 in (6-7 sts/in) in pattern when blocked.

These kits contain the yarn only!  The Nightshift pattern is available for purchase on ravelry.com  Yarn kits are available for THREE sizes, depending on how large you want to make your shawl:

Shawlette (small):  Approximately 40 inch wingspan, blocked.  Kit includes 2 skeins (255 yards each) - one skein of each of two different gradient colorways.  510 yards total of yarn.

Shawl (medium):  Approximately 56 inch wingspan, blocked.  Kit includes 2 skeins (470 yards each) - one each of two different gradient colorways.  940 yards total of yarn.

Shlanket (large):  Approximately 68 inch wingspan.  Kit includes 4 skeins.  - one 255 yard skein and one 470 yard skein for each of two different gradient colorways. 1450 yards total of yarn.

To make this shawl using a gradient, work the setup section given on page 5 of the pattern.  Then work 40 rows of the stitch pattern (given on page 4), alternating the gradient used for the background color and the gradient used for the 'blips' color for each repeat.  Because all the colors are continuous and contained within the gradient colorway, there is no need to cut the yarn and join in new colors - the yarn changes color automatically!
